Status of this site

This site is an unofficial, noncommercial technical record investigating a defect in Pokémon Jade (Special Pikachu Edition) and the game’s behavior under emulation. It is not affiliated with, approved by, or sponsored by Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures, Game Freak, the creators or distributors of the original game or the cartridge examined here, or any other rights holder.

The work’s title is used only to identify the subject of the investigation. Names, characters, game imagery, music, program code, and other third-party intellectual property belong to their respective rights holders.

Material published here

  • Explanatory text, verification procedures, tables, and schematic diagrams created by the author
  • Factual data needed to identify the ROM, including its size, hashes, and addresses
  • The minimum instruction excerpts needed to explain the technical issue
  • Two clearly attributed screenshots necessary to discuss reproduction conditions and display corruption
  • Analysis and verification scripts that contain no ROM data and validate their input

Material not published here

  • The source ROM or a modified ROM
  • Generated IPS, BPS, or other patch binaries
  • Screenshots unrelated to a quotation or analytical purpose, gameplay video, audio, extracted images, or complete maps
  • Save data or emulator save states
  • Extensive disassembly, asset dumps, or other derived data

Treatment of quoted screenshots

Only two game screenshots are included, because they are necessary to identify the reproduction point and analyze visual corruption that cannot be specified clearly in text alone. Each appears immediately after the relevant analysis, is visually distinguished as quoted material, and identifies the work, who captured it, the capture environment, and the purpose of the quotation.

The site provides neither standalone download links for the image files nor a gallery page. The images are not included for decoration, asset viewing, or reuse, and extracted assets, complete maps, and sprite collections are not published. Because the subject is an unlicensed work and the identity of its creators, distributors, and individual asset owners cannot be established with confidence, each quotation notice also states that uncertainty.

Caution when reproducing the investigation

This site does not explain how to obtain the ROM. Anyone repeating the investigation should review the applicable laws and terms and use only material they can lawfully use. Do not distribute a generated ROM or patch to third parties.

Site text and third-party material

If this repository receives a license in the future, that license will cover only text, diagrams, tables, and code created by the author. It will not grant rights in names, trademarks, game content, or other third-party material.

If a rights holder sends a reasonable request, the relevant material will be reviewed and, where appropriate, revised or removed.
